Silicon Valley Toolbox
The Silicon Valley toolbox is the how to, where to and what is of Silicon Valley.
We want you to feel at home in this giant land of technology, and to feel at home you need to know what's going on; where to find stuff; what to watch, listen to and read; most importantly how and where you fit in.
So, in alphabetical order;
Ahhh Blogs. With technorati tracking over 59.8 million blogs (Nov. 2006) we have decided to give you what we think are the best here. Either about Silicon Valley, or written by those living here, they should give you a better understanding of the people and life in the strange world of Silicon Valley.
Craigslist is Silicon Valley's premier classifieds listing. It is online, updated regularly and has the latest information about anything and everything for sale/rent/free in the region. It looks way boring, but you will come to love this. There are no great ads jumping out at you, it loads quickly, and the content is fantastic. You will find you won't need anything else.
Food, Alcohol and Drugs: There are specific stores to buy certain things. We go to one place to buy our staples in bulk (Costco), another for better fruit and veg (Piazza's and Whole Foods), and Safeway for the last minute 'forgotten things'. You will get used to it, and you will decide on your own preferences - until then, check out our list - it'll tell you the names and locations of where to buy stuff.
Newspapers, radio stations, and TV stations - pretty much self explanatory - we've included the basic networks, largest along with local newspapers, and what are considered the Bay area's radio stations.
