On the first Wednesday of each month, the Exploratorium (San Francisco) opens its doors to the community, free of charge, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Exploratorium in San Francisco offers two unique party packages for little people.
The Tactile Journey
- One price for up to 20 people
- Museum admission for the day
- Dome sessions last 75 minutes
- Each visitor can experience the dome 2-3 times
- Meal vouchers and party favors available
Deluxe Member Party
- Reserved party room
- Personal party coordinator
- 45 minutes of age-appropriate hands on or 45 minute tour
- Free t-shirt for birthday child
- One price for up to 20 people
- Museum admission for the day

- Members only

The Friends of the Palo Alto Library holds a book sale on the 2nd Saturday and Sunday of every month.
Mark your calendars, the dates for 2008 are:
- Jan 12-13
- Feb 9-10
- Mar 8-9
- April 12-13 * Enormous Book Sale
- May 10-11
- June 14-15
If you have old books, software, movies, music or games, don’t throw them out, donate the lot, it’s all tax deductable.
Drop them off at Cubberley Community Center (Tue-Sat, 2-4 pm) or drop off up to one bag or box per day at any Palo Alto library. Library branches and hours can be found here

Theatre Works - audition or just watch

TheatreWorks is one of Silicon Valley’s greatest theaters, now in its 38th year. It offers a year-round season of musicals, comedies and dramas for all ages.
If your little person is an aspiring star, TheatreWorks holds general auditions twice each year, typically in January and the summer.

Healthy Toys for Silicon Valley Kids Resource

Two years we have been here, and with every day we learn more.
There has been much talk of toxins in toys and with Christmas around the corner it’s making it a trick to buy stuff for our little people.
A useful resource I’ve found recently is Healthy Toys; a site dedicated to letting the world know which toys are safe and which are toxic.
